CHAPTER OPERATIONS AND SUSTAINABILITY
Chapter management or sustainability initiatives and/or tools focused on strengthening the internal workings of the chapter. Examples could be:

  • Management tools, employee handbook, employee benefits
  • Budget allocations focused on saving money
  • Events producing large net revenue
  • Policies on fiscal requirements/reserves
  • Transparency of chapter finances
  • Streamline chapter policies and/or governance structure
  • Software improving member service and lowering repetitiveness
  • Employee structure to reduce overhead and become more efficient and effective
     

LEADERSHIP
Strategic activities enhancing the mission and vision of the organization and/or contribute to the overall growth of the industry. Examples are:

  • Board/committee succession planning
  • Strategic/Governance planning
  • Effective committee organizational structure
  • Effective Communications\Unique volunteer mentoring plan or program
  • Diversity, Equity & inclusion initiative

 

MEMBERSHIP ENGAGEMENT
Services improving and enhancing overall membership experience, satisfaction, and value of CAI. Efforts or successful programs surrounding membership.  Examples could be:

  • Innovative speaker for education program
  • CEO Management Company Forum/Get Together
  • Board Leadership Training
  • Digital magazine/newsletter
  • Membership directory
  • New website, app, or any new service you are providing
  • Trade Show/Expo
  • Scholarship program
  • Personal touch to members
  • Any social or networking event where members find value and engagement
  • New member ambassador program
  • Membership satisfaction survey
  • Membership campaign
  • New member orientation program
  • Unique recruitment tool (e.g., chapter membership advertisement or chapter new member gift)
     

PUBLIC AFFAIRS
Building the CAI brand and making the community aware of the services and resources available. Examples are:

  • Community service project
  • Community outreach
  • Press Release/Op-Ed letter to the editor that supports the mission of the organization 
  • Public relations campaign or public awareness activity
  • Legislative call to action penetration of public outreach
  • ADR/mediation program
  • Municipality projects/relationship building
  • CAI Day at the Capitol
  • Class for legislators/realtors to understand community associations
  • Grants

 

OUT OF THE BOX
Creating or revitalizing enhancements to the chapter’s routine to think differently about achieving the chapter’s goals. Examples are:

  • New programs
  • Cutting cost without losing quality
  • Changing a system or process
  • Improving the ratio by increasing the participation of the underrepresented
  • Partnering with other chapters or non-profits
  • Taking a risk
  • Innovative thinking
